In market there are varieties of carpet cleaning products available to satisfy the house wives for getting a neat carpet for use. Young kids used to play most of the time in carpets and keeping it clean and tidy is the main concern for them. After the recent wide spread birds’ flu killing the germs and bacteria that have made their home land in the carpet are a real worry for everybody. Generally carpet absorbs all foreign materials like dust, dead skin, food crumbs, dust mites, bacteria, germs, pollen etc. All these items penetrate deep in to the carpets, especially the living organisms multiply in millions inside the carpet. The carpet cleaning products contain chemical solvents, which dissolves the dirt leaves strong odors polluting the rooms. Some ingredients of these chemicals produce lot of fumes, acids etc which are also very harmful to human beings; manufactured in factories where one can see workers wearing masks and other protective instruments. When the products are reached in to the hands of housewives no proper protections are taken. Another carpet cleaning product is stain repellent, perfluro-octane sulfonate which will invite health hazards to human beings.
The alternate to the harmful carpet cleaning products are use of green cleaning products having Government certifications like Eco-safe/ Non-toxic/ Natural/ Eco-friendly etc. Steam cleaning of carpets is also an alternate to using the harmful cleaning products.
